Igneous- When magma/lava cools down and solidifies
Sedimentary-When weathered sediments are compacted/cemented together
Metamorphic-When pre-existing rock changes its composition due to pressure/heat

Please explain the process of how sedimentary rocks are formed in more detail...
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the environment where Lithification takes place, for example in desert environment. In desert regions moisture is needed which can cause sediments to stick to one another, almost like glue.
